Doing Good at Good News Rescue Mission
Every year, the team at Cory Meyer Real Estate takes on community projects. Giving back is an important part of our culture and values.
Recently, we headed over to the Good News Rescue Mission to help serve Thanksgiving dinner. People in need sit down at a nice table and we serve them a Thanksgiving Feast, including turkey, mashed potatoes, and all the fixin's.
My daughter and I were in charge of serving dessert -- pumpkin pie, of course!
Coming Together To Give Back
My daughter, Madison, and I have been doing this event for four years. This year we had 10 people from the Cory Meyer and Aspire Real Estate teams. Plus, two members from dignified home loans joined in to help us.
There was a worship band there playing music for everyone's enjoyment. It was a really fun event.
About The Good News Recsue Mission
The Good News Rescue Mission provides services to those in need, knowing that coming together to help others makes a difference in our community. They offer assistance, believing that everyone deserves a second chance and that no one is beyond grace. Individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty can find a hot meal, safe shelter, recovery programs, and job training, among other things.
The services offered through their outreach programs are intended to help build the foundation of a changed life to get people off the streets for good!
When we come together, we are stronger
That is something the Good News Rescue Mission and our team both believe.
After serving the Thanksgiving dinner, our whole crew went to Cedar Crest Brewery and celebrated together. The back room of the brewery is a beautiful space, and the beer is fantastic!
The Hazy IPA is my personal recommendation.
Some additional folks met up with us to join in the holiday celebration, and we brought dinner in from the Post Office Saloon next door.
How about you? How can you bring people in your together to grow stronger?
