Small Town Living

Bull Riding Event

I recently went to the Silver Bridge Shootout, a small bull riding event in Palo Cedro, the small town I live in.

This event was really special to me because it reminds me how much I love small town living. I grew up in a small town called Sonoma Valley, and it holds a place in my heart. When I moved to Sonoma as a child, it had only one stop light. Every time you went to store you ran into people you know. These are the kinds of things I like about being part of a small community.

I helped to sponsor the “Shootout” and it was a great day! There were some great bulls and riders, delicious barbeque from a small place in Cottonwood, and kids playing everywhere. It’s simple – you just bring a lawn chair and a cooler and enjoy. Don’t worry if you missed it, there are many more to come!

Curious About Palo Cedro?

If you like small town living and are thinking of moving to Palo Cedro, it is a great place to be! It has great small town events like Country Christmas and Honeybee Festival. I love attending these events and seeing many local people.

I also enjoy supporting local business in Palo Cedro and I’m excited to see this community develop with small businesses. Some of my favorite local businesses are:

·      Goodtimes Pizza and Things

·      Palo Cedro Inn

·      Holiday Market

·      Palo Cedro Crossfit

·      Fresh Fire Grill

·      and I am excited to try the new Norm's Palo Cedro.

There are many great small communities I love in the Greater Redding Area. Another example is Cottonwood, and there are many in Butte County, Tehama County and Shasta County. If you’re interested in learning more about any of these areas, I know these counties and towns very well, especially Palo Cedro. I’d love to share them with you.

Sponsoring Local Events

I am trying to be more involved in local events and sponsoring them as I did the Silver Bridge Shootout. In fact, this was my third sponsored event in the last 30 days along with the Redding Beer and Wine Festival and The Duivenvoorden Farms Raw Milk and Cookies day.

If you know of any upcoming community events, I’d love to hear about them and see how I can get involved and provide support. Reach out to me here.
